Students at Fanshawe College are getting a chance to relax and learn during exam season through the Academic Integri-Tea and Chill Lounge event at Forwell Hall.
The event offers free food, games, and activities while also helping students understand academic integrity.
Organizers say the goal is to support students during a stressful time.
“We have tons of activities… the Chill Lounge starts at 11 a.m., and Integrity starts at 10 a.m. We’re here until 2 p.m.,” said Patrick Nichol and Cami Ariza, event
coordinators. “We have glass blowing, henna, esports like Mario Kart, and more.”
Elizabeth from the Fanshawe Student Union says the event also focuses on education.
“Today we have academic integrity, so I can test your knowledge. And you can also get pastries and iced tea,” she said.
The Chill Lounge gives students a place to take a break.
“This is a place where students can come and unwind, play video games with friends, and take a break after a stressful day,” said Noah Davidson, a producer at Fuel Esports.
Students attending say the event is helping them manage stress.
“It seems like a good event; there are free pastries and henna… it’s pretty nice,” said Azriel, a first-year nursing student.
Another student said the event helped ease exam pressure.
“I do have an exam today, and I am stressed, but this took my mind off my exam,” the student said. “It’s really calming and makes me feel more prepared.”
The event runs throughout the day and gives students a chance to relax and recharge
