A popular student-fueled Fanshawe TV show is back, as part of a collaboration between the college’s TV Film, Musical Industry Arts (MIA) and Multimedia Journalism programs.
Fanshawe’s Studio Red Live aired Tuesday, featuring Fanshawe MIA band You Might Be Sleeping and hosted by journalism student Owen Schuller. The last episode aired nearly a year ago, in November 2025.
“It came up from one of our bosses saying, ‘this show was great. Let’s bring it back,'” said TV Production professor Scott Navarro.
Student camera operator Riley Seferiades said the show provides students an opportunity to get hands-on experience operating and moving heavy broadcast equipment.
“I love music and I’ve done music broadcast in the past, but this is more professional and a great learning experience,” said Seferiades.
This is the first year journalism students have joined the production.

“I’m excited to host a live show and watch the music they’re going to perform. I think it’s a great way to collaborate with the different programs,” Schuller said.
Band formed in high school
You Might Be Sleeping is an indie-rock band that has been together for almost six years, since the members were in high school.
“Our manager Nick McCarthy and coordinator got in contact with each other talking about the show and he recommended us which was awesome,” said bassist, Toby Rossi.
The band also consists if drummer, Attila Fay, and Nico Valeriote, who said the band gets some inspiration from popular 90s music.
“Seeing my dad play guitar inspired me and singing came from guys like Curt Cobain (of Nirvana). I always like guys who play and sing,” Valeriote said.
Studio Red Live is already available on YouTube, and will soon be available on Rogers.
The next live episode airs next Tuesday Nov. 3, 2026 at 6 p.m.
