London has seen some pretty wacky weather recently and Environment Canada thinks that the warm weather is likely going to stay until Christmas.
The Forest City has only seen one significant snowfall this year, and it only lasted for one full weekend. Temperatures have risen to above normal for the fall season.
Around this time of the year, snow is very commonly seen and the abnormal temperatures have left meteorologists puzzled.
Emergency Prepardeness Meteorologist for Environment Canada, Geoff Coulson says that the warm temperatures are going to stay, “Well we’re not really seeing much of a change of pattern. Unfortunately these mild temperatures are going to stay until the Christmas time frame, there is still some chance of some cooler air before Christmas itself though.”
“Not only are the temperatures mild, but there is a lot of moisture in the low levels of the atmosphere and all of these factors are coming together to produce these number of days of poor visibility in Southwestern Ontario,” says Coulson.
Environment Canada has also said we can’t count out the snow just yet and it might arrive sooner than expected.
