London is celebrating Canada’s 149th birthday at Harris Park with a full day of events.
“To be a part of a volunteer group that has harnessed this much energy from the community is extremely rewarding,” said the event’s organizer, Randy Warden from London Celebrates Canada.
He says they are expecting a red and white sea of about 40, 000 people.
All sorts of people come out including the navy, the military, the RCMP, police officers and emergency services, which allows Canadians the chance to say thank you for protecting our country.
Hopefully, even some Syrian refugees come out to Harris Park on Friday to discover what being Canadian means while displaying any significance Canada already is for them.
What it means to be Canadian is something you have to ask yourself because it varies from person to person. A lot of the time people are coming out to explore what it means.
Warden says when he thinks about what it means to be Canadian he sees how well we can work together when we have something in our minds we want to accomplish, which he sees even through working together to simply hold this event.

And, of course, at 10pm spectacular fireworks and is the largest show in Southwestern Ontario.
