Over the weekend, the London Minor Football Association kicked off their season with action. There are currently 24 teams in the minor football system with 3 youth divisions. Each division has modified rules to allow the development of the player to be ready for high school football. The seasons start in August with practice where games begin in September and last for 8 weeks till playoffs start in November.
Every year, minor football in London will see 600 to 650 players. The Director of Operations for the London Minor Football Association, Brock Burgess says that Minor Football in London has seen a growth in registration with 10% compared to last year. The under 13 division is currently filled up with a waiting list while the other 2 divisions also have a large amount of athletes on teams.
Registration fees for minor football costs two hundred seventy five dollars which also includes all the rental equipment such as helmets, shoulder pads, knee pads and also game socks and game jerseys which you get to keep. The only thing required for you to buy are football cleats.
