The London Knights are finally looking true to form.
After a slow start to the season, they’ll be looking to win their fourth straight game tonight with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in town.
The Greyhounds are 6-0 on the road, including a 3-2 shootout win in London last month. It’s the only loss the Knights have suffered at home.
London will be looking to OHL player of the week Max Jones to keep the offence rolling. Jones tallied 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points in 2 games played, earning him the distinction.
He’ll be playing on a line with Cliff Pu, the third round Buffalo Sabres prospect. Pu has been a force for the Knights’ this season, putting up 16 points in 9 games. He’s tied for 13th in Ontario Hockey League scoring.
Sault Ste. Marie has their fair share of gunners, though. Overager Bobby MacIntyre is a force for the Greyhounds. He’s tallied 22 points in just 14 contests– good enough for 5th in OHL scoring. The Knights will need to shut him down if they plan to have any chance of winning this game.
The Greyhounds are 8-5-1, and only 2 points out of first place in the competitive Western Conference.
London is just 3 points out, and have just as many games in hand on the Soo.
One of the streaks will be snapped tonight: either the Greyhounds’ undefeated road record, or the Knights 3 game winning streak.
You can catch all the action at Budweiser Gardens. Puck drop is set for 7:30.
