The London Knights have had no trouble scoring goals lately, and Sunday afternoon was no different.
The Knights used seven goal scorers to crush the Niagara IceDogs 11-2 at Budweiser Gardens.
Adrian Carbonara, J.J. Piccinich, Owen MacDonald and Sam Militec all scored twice.
“We’ve found our stride the past couple games,” said Militec after the game.
“If we keep doing what we’re doing, then we’ll be [successful].”
London has scored 31 goals in their last six games; they’ve been getting offense from all ends of the rink.
That includes on the defensive side; Mitch Vande Sompel and Evan Bouchard both tallied for the Knights. Robert Thomas’ goal rounded out the scoring.
Kirill Maksimov and Ondrej Machala responded for the IceDogs.
Win the win, London moves to a tie for first place in league standings with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. And they have two games in hand.
They welcome the Erie Otters to town on Friday night, in a battle of Western Conference heavyweights. The Otters sit only two points back of the Knights.
“We just [need to] play them tight defensively; we pride ourselves on our defense,” said Militec.
Puck drop is set for 7:30 at Budweiser Gardens, in what promises to be a great game.
