This past St. Patrick’s day was the first to fall on a Saturday since the infamous Fleming riot 6 years ago, but this one didn’t get as out of hand.
The London Police Service handed out nearly 50 tickets, more than 200 warnings and made 3 arrests on March 17, 2018. Sgt. Dave Ellyatt says the day was busy but there weren’t any major issues in the city “We did have to shut down a few large parties that were threatening to spill into the streets.”

- 1 Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Charges
- 49 Provincial Offence Notices, with the majority in relation to Liquor Licence Act offences
- 2 Bylaw Charges for Public Nuisance
- 214 Warnings

21 licensed establishments were inspected with assistance from the Alcohol and Gaming commission of Ontario. Multiple infractions were noted during the night and the AGCO will continue to investigate them.
