Fanshawe College has announced that they will be postponing this year’s spring convocation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ceremonies were originally supposed to take place between June 9-11. The college has said they will postpone the ceremonies until sometime in the fall of 2020.
Student services vice-president Michele Beaudoin shared sentiments of pride in a written statement sent out by the college on Monday.
“We know this will be a disappointment to our graduating students,” said Beaudoin. “They (the students) have persevered through a very difficult time to complete their studies under extraordinary circumstances and we are extremely proud of their accomplishments.”
Western University announced on Friday that they would be cancelling spring convocation ceremonies as well.
Fanshawe students will still receive their credentials in the spring. Any questions regarding graduation can be emailed to graduation@fanshawec.ca.
