After two days under a high heat warning, Environment Canada has now issued a special weather statement for heavy rain in the region.
They say that rain moving northward from Ohio will cross Lake Erie and some sections of Lake Ontario through the middle of the day. This could bring about twenty to forty millimetres of rain in the city this morning and in the early evening.
Temperatures are still expected to remain warm today though with a high of 24 degrees, feeling like 29 with the humidex.
According to Environment Canada, the rain is associated with the tropical storm Bertha, losing some severity as it moves northward. It’s still unclear which region will be the hit hardest but both the London/Parkhill /Eastern Middlesex County and the Strathroy /Komoka/ Western Middlesex County have been issued the statement.
