A donation box has been taken from the London Humane Society.
Between 2 and 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon a volunteer noticed the donation box was missing and later they solved it had been stolen.
Executive Director at the shelter Judy Foster says they don’t know for sure how much money was in the box, however believes it was less than $100.
Foster notes every dollar makes a difference and says the issue is disheartening and sickening.
She adds the shelter was very busy yesterday and they are not sure who may have taken the box.
Foster hopes anyone who knows who did do this will appeal to them to return it.
Foster says the Humane Society is going to look and see if there is a better way to fasten the box to prevent this from happening again.
She adds this has happened before, over 5 years ago.
Foster thinks a lot of the community are very upset that someone would steal funds that are going towards helpless and homeless animals.
Foster tells the X everyone has been very supportive to the shelter, and have provided cash donations and product donations like cleaning supplies.
