This will be the first time this season these two teams will faceoff against one another, and the first time two players get to face their former teams.
Chris Martenet was traded to the 67’s along with 3 draft picks, for Dante Salituro and one draft pick just over 10 days ago. Martenet spent 2 and half seasons in London, totaling 34 points in 158 games. As for Salituro, he spent 4 seasons with Ottawa, racking up 260 points in 265 games. Salituro has spent this year in AHL and ECHL.
The Knights haven’t had too much trouble with the 67’s in recent years. Over the past 5 seasons, London is 8-0 in the head-to-head matchup. However, for the first time all season, the Knights will be looking to stop a 2 game losing streak. Ottawa comes into this one on a bit of a slide as well, as they’ve dropped 4 of their last 5.
The 67’s are currently 7th in the East, just 2 points up on Niagara for the last playoff spot. For the Knights, a win tonight coupled with a Greyhounds loss to the Firebirds, would move London into top spot in the OHL.
Puckdrop for this one is set for just after 7:30.
