A new 10-day cultural initiative is happening at White Oaks Mall this weekend and goes until August 10th.
Eid Marketplace aims to bring the London community together and learn more about Arabic culture and traditions.
“A first time experience for the community in general, but particularly for the Muslim community, newcomers and refugees,” says media relations Mayssa El-Sayegh.
Muslims around the world are celebrating their second holiday of the year and for the first time, the London’s Muslim community are celebrating ‘Eid Al-Adha’ in an open space.
“We haven’t had anything at a place that is quite open to the community. Eid Marketplace opens up a new opportunity to experience other cultures such as what we do, what our traditions are, and how we decorate or what we decorate with,” adds El-Sayegh.
People will be able to find Eid holiday decorations and crafts including high care jewelry and unique vendors such as a Basha Handy Candy. A local new business that makes a type of candy that is popular in the middle east.
