The Huron Waves Music Festival was originally supposed to have live music across Huron County in May and in December. However, they were unable to do this due to COVID-19 and they had cancelled the festival all together.
That was until the Ministry of Culture and Tourism came up with some funding ideas to help the festivals think of a new way to share their event. So, Sunday, Dec 13th, at 3pm, they went live on YouTube and Facebook.
Pre COVID-19, the festival was going to feature artists from around the world, but as it switched to online, they decided to have this event feature local musicians from Huron County.
The host is Graham Greene, a First Nations Canadian actor. Some artists in the online music festival is a cellist from Wingham, a soprano from Goderich, a ballerina from Hensall, and First Nations drummers from the Stoney and Kettle Point.
If you missed it, that’s okay, Huron Waves – Celebrate The Season is free to watch and will be available until the end of the year.
