Electronic Arts have announced three new upcoming Star Wars games. The games have been announced to come from the gaming company Respawn Entertainment. Respawn Entertainment is best known for the hit battle royale Apex Legends. They have also in the past made games like Medal of Honor and Titanfall. They usually specialize in first-person-shooters but have done some 3rd person action games in the past, like their previous Star Wars game, Jedi: Fallen Order. The three newly announced games are expected to be similar but different simultaneously.
The first announced game is expected to be a strategy game. Games industry veteran Greg Foertsch is set to lead the project. It will be developed through a production collaboration between Respawn and Bit Reactor. Respawn will produce the title, while Bit Reactor will lead the title’s development. Unfortunately, that is all that was revealed as this game is currently in its early stages.
The second announced game is a first-person shooter. There is no word on when the story will be set or what characters will be included. But with the experience of creating Apex Legends and Titanfall, players should expect a similar experience that takes you deep into the frontlines of battle in the Star Wars universe. Fans are hoping for something along the lines of the story mode to the game Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which saw you take control of a soldier in the Empire’s infantry crew. Again, game Director Peter Hirschmann, who has a history of making Star Wars games, will develop.
The final announced game is a sequel to Jedi: Fall Order. A full announcement is expected to be very close as the sequel is deep into production. It is rumored to release sometime in the next year. The story is expected to pick up where Jedi: Fallen Order left off, with Cal Kestis working to revive the Jedi Order. It was also announced that the Jedi games would become a franchise of games, with many more expected to come. Game Director Stig Asmussen has been announced as the one who has overseen the creation of this sequel.
Although these announcements are exciting, it is essential to remember that two of these three titles are most likely far from release.
