It was a tight game at the Budweiser Gardens. The London Knights were facing off against the Saginaw Spirit in their fifth game in eight days. Despite the Knights possibly experiencing some exhaustion, the teams did not disappoint when it came to putting on a show.
Just over a minute into the first period, Sean McGurn secured a lead for the Knights. They held the lead for most of the first period before Saginaw snuck by Knights’ goalie, Owen Willmore, and tied it up.
Antonio Stranges scored the lone goal in the second period, bringing the score to 2-1 in favour of the Knights.
The third period is when things started to get tight. London added another to the tally, but mere seconds later, Saginaw responded.
Saginaw pocketed the puck twice in about 15 seconds and the game was quickly tied in the third period. The teams were scrambling to see who could secure the win.

In response to Saginaw’s two goals, Evangelista scored again. His second goal of the game marked his 47th of the season and is leading the league in goal count.
Stranges added an insurance goal with his second of the game to make it 6-4. That turned out to be the game-winner as the Spirit would edge closer by scoring one with 29 seconds left while their goalie was pulled.
London did not give up, scoring two empty netter goals seconds before the buzzer rang. But, both goals were called back due to offside.
The arena was filled with tension in the third period of the game, but the Knights still pulled through with a wild win.
The Knights return home on March 18.
