The London Knights completed their preseason calendar with a win and loss against the Erie Otters.
On Friday, the Knights came out in the first period strong and hard and scored a short-handed goal, courtesy of Denver Barkey on a breakaway.
The Otters stormed back though, out shooting and out playing the Knights in the second, but they could not put a puck past reigning OHL Goaltender of the Year, Brett Brochu.
The third period was very different from the first two. The two teams combined for two goals in the first 33 seconds of the period. Ryan Del Monte scored for London after Elias Cohen scored 12 seconds into the period.
After Erie scored to tie the game up 2-2, the game went to a shootout, where the Knights emerged victorious.
The next day, both teams were in Clinton, ON where the game ended in another shootout.
London had a 6-1 lead, but Erie had a major comeback as they tied it up 6-6.
The final ended up being 7-6 in favor of Erie as Otters rookie goalie Jacob Gibbons held his own after a rocky start to help the Otters secure a victory.
The two teams will now prepare to start their regular season.
The Knights will open their season on Friday, September 30 at 7:00pm against the Owen Sound Attack at Budweiser Gardens.
