With Summer on the way more Canadians are finally planning on travelling this year for their vacations.
Statistics Canada Canadas recently highlighted a sharp uptick in a study showing Canadians travelling outside of the country last summer.
With COVID-19 restrictions being lifted earlier in the year more people are now choosing to travel outside of the country.
Among growing, travel trends would be that of destination weddings according to industry insiders like Isabel Traher, one of the organizers behind the London Bridal Expo.
“There have been more destination weddings as of late with fewer restrictions now, I’ve also seen a lot of people choosing to hold their destination weddings here in Canada which has been keeping vendors pretty busy,” she said.
With travel-related businesses finally celebrating the rise in travel, with many of these businesses struggling greatly during the pandemic.
Workers in the Travel Industry like Travel Advisor Susan Eliuk have also been noticing the increase in business as of late as well.
“I’ve been in the Travel Industry for over 10 years and we’ve really been seeing a revival when it comes to people choosing to travel by air,” she said.
After struggling during the pandemic Canada and many other countries went on to close their borders.
“My business definitely saw a crash just like every other travel-related business like hotels, resorts, and especially with travel agencies like mine” she continued.
Susan believes her business will continue to grow into the year as more and more restrictions continue to be lifted
