Canada Day has become one of the larger holidays countrywide, with larger fireworks displays and festivities highlighting the weekend.
London is no exception, with plenty of events to commemorate the national holiday including plenty of live music, street vendors, and more throughout.
Events across the city include:
Friday:
– London Night Market, 7pm to 11pm. The Night Market is an interactive festival designed to celebrate the people of London. Features street performances, local artists, street vendors, and more in Dundas Place and Covent Garden Market.
Saturday:
– Canada Day at the Pioneer Village, 10am to 4pm. Take a step back in time and enjoy heritage music as well as other games and dances.
– Canada Day with Museum London, 12pm to 4pm. An afternoon of exhibition-related activities and art-making inspired by Canadian and Indigenous art and history.
– Canada Day London, 12pm to 11pm. An event celebrating the rich culture and diverse people in the city. Featuring local artists, face painting, a kid zone, and more in Dundas Place and Covent Garden Market.
– Fireworks at Harris Park, 10pm.
– East London Optimist Canada Day, 3pm to 10:30pm. An event featuring a reptile zoo, food trucks, balloon animals, and more with fireworks at East Lions Community Centre at 10pm.
– South London Canada Day, 2pm to 11pm. The celebration features Mario Kart with the mayor, local bands, food vendors and more, with fireworks at White Oaks Park at 10pm.
– London Majors vs. Hamilton Cardinals, 6:05pm. London’s baseball team is set to take on the visiting Cardinals at Labatt Memorial Park for their Canada Day game.
– Fireworks at Meadowgate Park, 10pm
