Friday night the Fanshawe Falcons men’s and women’s basketball team played host to the St.Claire Saints. It was a rough night for both the men’s and women’s team for the falcons.
The night started out with the Fanshawe women’s team fighting hard but falling short by a score of 86-69 against the Saints. The falcons were lead by leading scorer Alison Cotton who had 17 points and was pay hard on both sides of the court with multiple steals and blocks throughout the game. Cotton also lead the team in rebounds with nine and Joanna Smith lead in assists for the falcons.
However the Saints were on fire all game from the three point line shooting 46% behind the arc.
For the men it was a night full of emotion as star player Terrance Williams playing against his former team. However the night for the former OCAA defensive player of the year last year did not have the night he was hoping to have shooting 6-22 from the field for a team high 14 points. The mens team kept it close after the first quarter but St.Clair turned it on after the mid-way point of the second quarter.
The game ended with a score 96-49 in favour on the St.Claire Saints.
