“I had just got up to brush my teeth while listening to my audiobook when I walked into a wall of smoke”. Says Mike Norwood who is a resident of the building.
“I heard my neighbour yelling “fire!” and “get out!””. Norwood added.
The fire had caught Mike unexpectedly as he was enjoying his Saturday night.
“I threw on a pair of underwear and got out the door.” Mike says.
London Fire had some trouble putting the fire out and had to result to alternative tactics.
“The fire had reached the attic, we started an offensive attack and then regrouped and made a defensive attack with two aerial units” says London Fire Department Chief Colin Shewell
“There was extensive damage” Shewell added.
A neighbour who did not provide their name said the deceased was a good neighbour and loved his dog.
The fire is still under investigation by the London Fire Department.
