Many Londoner may have noticed the big jump at the pumps from last night to this morning, “and it is only the start” says expert Dan McTeague.
“The Price of energy is not going to remain at what it is and there will be 3 or 4 bumps that will be noticeable for drivers over the next few weeks” was McTeague warning to divers across Ontario.
“the major impacts that will affect the price of gas he said is the 3.8 cents a liter with the carbon tax, secondly the switch from winter gas to summer gas which adds another 6 to 7 cents a liter which will be in effect about mid-April and there are many indications that the price of oil per barrel will jump 8-10 dollars by the may 24 weekend. which will raise the gas on average about 12 more cents a liter.” McTeague also mention that ” I wouldn’t be surprised that here in London gas price spike to $1.80 to $1.85 per liter at some point during the summer.”
McTeague does however have some tips for drivers to save a little money saying ” put the gas that your car needs in the tank if it recommends regular put in regular and not premium which can save you about 30 cents a liter”.
The energy information agency released it’s weekly report saying there was a 5 million barrel drop in gas inventory. “which means supply is being very constrained which is why the energy mark is on a bit of a rally”.
This upcoming summer could be hard for divers to be putting gas in the tank and there is a a chance relief wont come until about the second week of September.
