St. Patrick’s Day this year also happens to also be the last weekend of winter. And after a season where we’ve experienced -26 and 21 many Londoners, like Ben, are looking forward to more consistently warm weather in the city.
“I’m ready to not have to wear 6 layers anymore, I can put my boots away. I don’t have to worry about shoveling the driveway, or having like, big salt stains on my shoes. You know, baseball’s back so I get to watch that and play it. So, it’s exciting. But in general, I’ll just be glad there’s no more snow.”
London Majors
Baseball is a popular event that returns to London this spring. The London Majors, one of London’s oldest and most popular sports teams get set to open their season May 12th in Toronto.
Their home opener is May 17th against the Welland Jackfish.
London Knights
Baseball isn’t the only sport this spring happening in London. Even though it’s known as a winter sport, the London Knights playoff run takes its course throughout the spring. After their final regular season game on March 24th, their playoff run starts the week after with their clinching of a playoff berth in the OHL’s western conference. If the Knights continue their hot streak into April and secure a spot in the Memorial Cup, London could have their games stretch into May and even possibly June.
Storybook Gardens
Other than sports London has outdoor park activities returning soon to the city. Storybook Gardens which is a staple in London is open from March 29th to April 1st for an easter egg hunt. Admission is $5.25 for children ages 17 and under and free for all adults. From Friday, March 29 to Monday, April 1, timeslots will be available from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m.

East Park
Another outdoor spot in London that opens this spring is East Park. While the waterpark portion usually opens in late May, East Park opens their batting cages and go-kart track open earlier. And while a set date has yet to be announced, you can look to see them available by mid-April. East Park is releasing an announcement Tuesday March 19th at noon here: https://eastparklondon.com/
