City politicians are excited about a potential revamp to the east London area surrounding 100 Kellogg Lane. In a meeting held Tuesday, cities planning committee unanimously endorsed a plan to redevelop the area according to lfpress. Plans for the area include building four mixed use buildings, 2 parking garages, stacked townhomes, and converted industrial buildings. The plan would bring around 900 residential units, 200 new hotel rooms, 2,500 parking spaces, and, 17,750 square meters of new commercial, office and entertainment space.
John Fleming, a planner with City Planning Solutions on behalf of the company behind the Kellogg District, called the overall project a “legacy” for council and the city.
Ward four councillor Susan Stevenson, who is not a member of the committee, said she is supportive of the project and that more than $100 million in private investment will benefit London for many years to come.
City council will decide on approval for the project at their Sept. 23 meeting.
