The London Bridge Child Care Services will be shutting down their before-and-after school programs in Huron County.
Parents learned in August which schools would be affected by the closure. More than 200 child care spaces will be closed between Bluewater Coast Elementary School, Exeter Elementary School and Precious Blood Catholic School.
The programs will be closing Sept. 26, due to the lack of early childhood educators in the county and Ontario.
Executive Director Angela Woodburn says accommodations will be made for the students and families that are affected.
“We’re waiving tuition fees for the month of September to allow them time to secure alternative arrangements.”
Along with these accommodations being made, the school board is working with Huron County’s manager of child services to fill the gap made.
Parents are currently working together to sign a petition, which they will give to the school board at the end of the month.
