First opened in August of 2020 by couple Jim (also known as JFX) and Mari Han, the 519 School of Hip Hop has since served as a creative hub for individuals who take an interest in hip hop.
Although the school has a focus on dance, it integrates the cultural and historical significance of hip hop by teaching students the fundamentals; breakdancing, deejaying, emceeing, and graffiti.
The school offers weekly drop-ins for kids, youths, and adults from all dance experiences.
In addition to their facility services, School of Hip Hop also offers educational entertainment for school assemblies, in-class visits, and school dances.
Benefits include in-class demos where they provide a basic introduction to hip hop through demonstration and discussions, workshops where they teach basics of breakdancing, and performances to entertain and inspire students.
The 519 School of Hip Hop’s fall registration is now open and will close on October 27.
