OPP report of a violent crash between a truck and an SUV on Medway Road.
Police confirm that a 17-year-old teenager from Thorndale was pronounced dead.
OPP says that the feed truck was westbound, and the SUV was travelling east when the collision occurred. The driver of the truck received minor injuries, they were treated on scene.
Const. Jeff Hare of Middlesex OPP told CTV, “We go to a lot of collisions and this one is definitely leaving a mark.”
The collision happened about half a kilometre east of Medway High School. Medway High School principal Chris Smith confirmed it was a student who died in the accident.
In a letter to parents and caregivers, Smith wrote, “We are saddened to share that we have lost a student in our school community. Our sympathy goes out to the family and their friends.”
Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact police.
