Today the London Fire Department held a meeting at the East Lion Community Center.
The focus of the meeting is to teach people of all ages fire safety in relevance to technology.
With technology being so integrated into everyone’s daily life, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get their point across
Shannon Byron, the Public Information Coordinator at London Fire Department says “we really want to emphasize for students to always charge devices on a hard surface.”
The reason for this is having a phone charging under your pillow or on top of your bed can cause it to overheat, and in some cases causing a fire right next to or under your head while you’re asleep.
“Make sure you’re not charging it overnight, unplug it as soon as it’s reached a full charge.” Says Byron.
