Londoners will have several options to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14, with events across the city featuring live music, comedy, film screenings and social activities.
Covent Garden Market will host a Valentine’s Day skate from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Rotary Rink, where visitors can skate while enjoying live music from Donald Waugh. Skate rentals will be available for $5, and the first 25 guests will receive complimentary Valentine’s chocolates while supplies last. Visitors can also take photos at a LOVE sign display and enjoy food vendors inside the market.
For those looking for live entertainment, the Century Centre at 100 Kellogg Lane will present a Valentine’s Day edition of its duelling pianos show from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will feature two pianists performing audience-requested songs in a high-energy, interactive format.
Comedy fans can attend the “My Funny Valentine” standup show at The Rec Room at Masonville from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., featuring comedians Amish Patel, known for appearances on Ginny & Georgia and Dino Dex, as well as London Entertainer of the Year Gee Gethiga, co-creator of the television dating show Dirtballs.
Singles can also take part in a Valentine’s-themed speed dating event at Winks Eatery from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., where participants aged 35 to 48 will meet potential matches through a series of short conversations, with organizers facilitating follow-up connections after the event.
Additional Valentine’s programming includes a special screening of the classic film Titanic at Hyland Cinema at 7:30 p.m. and a live “Classic Albums Live” performance of Prince’s Purple Rain at Centennial Hall.
