The London Police Major Crime Section is probing a homicide investigation after a 56-year-old man was found with life-threatening injuries in a rooming and boarding house on Wharncliffe Road near Wortley Village.
Emergency crews got to the scene around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, where they attended to a man inside the building with “multiple lacerations”.
Lifesaving efforts were made by police until paramedics took over. The man was then taken to hospital, where he later died.
40-year-old Robert Charnock of London has been charged with one count of second-degree murder.
This is London’s 12th homicide of the year.
