At the beginning of September, London Transit implemented new routes and changed every route in the system; except for one.
These changes include more frequent buses at more times, and extending service to 1 AM on nine routes, including three buses that come to Fanshawe; the 4, 17, and 20.
Katie Burns is the director of planning for London Transit, and says that they have received some good, and some bad feedback from the public.
“We’ve received a lot of feedback, not necessarily specifically from Fanshawe students but across the board.” says Katie.
“It’s kind of been mixed because some people’s trips were impacted negatively with the changes, and other people had positive responses, so we’re getting both positive and negative feedback from the changes.”
Transit has been an on-going problem in London for the past few years, with a lot of people unhappy with the service. Burns adds that having respect for the drivers and passengers can go a long way.
“Right now what we’re trying to promote is respecting everyone, respecting the operator, respecting your fellow passengers, and just making sure that you’re getting on the bus and enjoying the ride.”
The LTC is hopeful that these new changes will make life a little easier for passengers, and making sure everybody is getting to where they need to be in a timely matter.
