Peer pressure is something that occurs often. Peer pressure is the influence of members in a peer group. Ninety percent of teens reported having experienced peer pressure, while 28 percent reported that their social status was boosted after they gave in to peer pressure. Close to one-third of first-time pain reliever pill abusers reported that they were pressured into taking the pill.
As stated peer pressure happens to 90% of teens. It is a very difficult situation. Parents dealing with a child that was peer pressured may also be very difficult.
With peer pressure happening very often it would be nice to hear a parents point of view about what they would do if they found out their child was trying to peer pressure other teens. With how high the percentage is of students being peer pressured we really need to lessen this number.
Peer pressure is something that occurs often and we need to decrease the rate of teens being peer pressured. There needs to be bigger consequences and people need to stick up for themselves more or talk to someone that can help.
