Online dating sites have now turned into a normality meaning many people are now using them. The only issue with these sites is people are catfishing. This isn’t an entirely new thing as this has been going on ever since apps like these were being created although it is more common now and most of the time you can’t tell whether it’s a real person or a cat fisher. Parents are always worried about their children talking to strangers on social media but adults need to be just as cautious.
Some of these catfishers are very sneaky. Texting you but never calling is definitely a sign and a red flag. They will text with you and send pictures of themselves but never video chat or facetime, meaning they could be using pictures or selfies from other people to hide their identity.
Online dating is a very sketchy thing but for some people it does work out for the best which is great for them. Some people find their true love, or find the person they spend the rest of their life with. These sites do work out for the best for a good amount of people.
Although the pros are nice, the cons can be very dangerous and can hurt you emotionally. Mental health is a big thing in the world right now and if you’ve been led on for a couple months and find out it was fake that can really affect you.
In conclusion dating sites are fun and can help you get into the healthy relationship you want to be in but the cons, dangers and catfishing that comes with it makes the online dating world scary.
