A crash outside of Fanshawe College left traffic moving slowly along Oxford Street East.
Emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision by the intersection of Oxford St East, and Second St.
The crash resulted in the temporary closing of the westbound left turning lane onto Fanshawe College Boulevard, and the east bound turning lane into the plaza on the corner of Oxford Street East, and Second St.
Local London resident Andrew, an employee at the convenience store on the corner of Oxford St East, and Second St said ” (accidents Infront of the store are a common occurrence) from what it looks like most of the time it’s somebody just not paying attention either when they are coming out of the parking lot or even not noticing the lights at the intersection have changed (resulting in people running the light).”
London Fire Department’s lead on scene Captain Phelps said it was a standard accident.
The cleanup on scene was initially delayed and Captain Phelps noted “We are waiting to see how the one patient is, whether they are going to hospital or not. If they go to the hospital the police are involved, if they don’t go to the hospital we can get cleaned up and everyone can get out of here.”
