Canada Life and Oak View Group have submitted a joint proposal to the London City Council to rename Budweiser Gardens. The new proposed name for the venue is Canada Life Place.
“Canada Life has called London home for 150 years, and we’re excited about this opportunity to build on our shared history,” says President and COO of Canada Life, Fabrice Morin in a media release. “We look forward to working with the City Council and answering any questions they might have as we move through next steps.”
Budweiser Gardens has been a part of London’s downtown core since 2002. It initially opened as John Labatt Centre and operated under that name from 2002-2012.
London City Council will be holding a council meeting on September 24, where they are expected to vote on the proposed new name.
