A Toronto man has been charged in a murder involving the death of a woman on Friday.
On Sept. 5, at around 5:40 p.m., police say they responded to a call in the High Park area of Toronto. When they got there, the police found a woman in a vehicle with a medical emergency.
The woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The victim was later identified by police as 21-year-old Serenity Brown.
Serenity Brown is Toronto’s 30th homicide victim this year.
According to news outlets, she was originally from the Oneida Nation of the Thames before she moved to Toronto.
On Monday, 48-year-old Trinel Thornhill was arrested and charged for second-degree murder.
He was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. The Toronto Police Service has not given an update on the trial.
