An announcement on Thursday was made by London Transit Commission (LTC) for temporary bus stops around Fanshawe college adding to many students’ transportation frustration.
The announcement on the LTC website gave the reason for implementing temporary stops, “With a strike at Fanshawe College occurring, no buses will be able to service the terminal on London Lane.”
LTC was unable to give an interview to explain the details but was able to give a statement.
When asked what went into picking the locations and accessibility, LTC said they chose stops that “are accessible and are as close as possible to the College.”

While LTC made the announcement aware to everyone on their social media and website, as well as adding postage to the current stop from the Oxford street construction, many students were frustrated with the temporary stops. One of the biggest reasons why Fanshawe students did not know of these changes was the use of popular third-party transit apps not made by the LTC.
With the current condition of the transportation involving the new temporary stops and Oxford construction, many frustrated students look to new ways of getting to school on time including services like Uber and ride sharing with others.
LTC said the temporary stops will return to their regular locations once the college support strike ends.
