The London International Airport was transformed into a large music venue for the city’s first ever “Rock The Runway”.
Drawing over 25,000 attendees, the two-day music festival quickly broke record; making it London’s biggest music festival held in the city. With names such as Noah Kahan, Marshmello, BBNO$, and many more performing, fans were treated to high energy sets.
However, the crowd struggled to leave the venue due to poor cell service, limited parking spots, and overbooked ride-shares which ultimately caused delays in exiting the event.
Manya Katyal, an attendee who went to see Marshmello.
““It was crowded and really far but I mean, there were a lot of people.” says Katyal.
Many concertgoers took to Instagram, leaving comments on the festival’s page like ““please have more parking attendants next time. i live just over an hour away and it took me over 4 hours to get home because of the parking situation.” says one user and “No cell service at all for hours on end was a safety issue and prevented people from purchasing food as well as making ride share options like Uber unavailable without internet access” says another.
Even with the challenges, Rock the Runway made history in London.
