The annual 3M Harvest lunch took place at Citi Plaza in downtown London.
Chris McInnis who is the director of marketing and communications for United Way Elgin Middlesex shared his thoughts with XFM News.
McInnis shares “So, this is the kick-off to our annual campaign. We’re trying to raise $6.4 million this year for services related to poverty in our communities. So, we’re trying to build a better community, one person at a time, one lunch at a time.”
McInnis goes on to share “Well, it’s really a good way to remind people of the need.
“So there’s one in four kids here in London living in poverty, and a lot of people just don’t appreciate how significant that is.”
The United Way Elgin Middlesex’s goal is to help end poverty in London by having these lunches and raising money for those in need.
