The Wellington County OPP will be one of the first OPP attachments to wear body cameras.
The Western Region has started making OPP officers wear body cameras, with Wellington County being one of the first counties to have the mandate.
After the “in-car cameras” were given out, each individual officer will have their own body camera to wear. This is to help clear up evidence and make things more transparent during the trials.
Wellington County says OPP officers will start wearing the cameras immediately, and more will join once they are trained.
