London police report a significant increase in 911 calls over the weekend during unsanctioned Homecoming celebrations near Western University.
An estimated 15,000 to 18,000 people gathered throughout the day on Saturday, September 27, with roughly 5,000 to 7,000 remaining into the evening, police said in a statement on Monday.
Middlesex-London Paramedic Services reported transporting 23 people from the area on Friday and Saturday due to the gatherings.
Police issued dozens of warnings and tickets over the weekend:

Liquor-related warnings: 134

Nuisance party tickets: 34

Urinating in public: 1 ticket

Open liquor: 6 tickets

Noise: 3 tickets
Officers also conducted two liquor compliance checks at local bars.
While no charges were laid under the Ontario Fire Code, London Fire Prevention inspectors responded to open-air burning complaints in the Broughdale Avenue area later in the evening.
