The Toronto Blue Jays are advancing to the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2016.
They defeated the New York Yankees 5-2 at Yankee Stadium in game four out of a possible five game series.
The Jays were led by Addison Barger who had three hits, followed by Nathan Lukes with his two runs batted in.
Prime Minister Mark Carney congratulated the Blue Jays on their win via social media.
He wrote “On to the next. Congratulations @BlueJays, making us proud”
The Jays are waiting for the winner of the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers series to see who they will get matched up against in the ALCS.
The first game in the ALCS will be on Sunday, October 12.
