Country superstar Dolly Parton addressed rumors about her health in a two minute video posted to her socials.
In the video, captioned “I ain’t dead yet!”, she is seen on set for a Grand Ole Opry commercial. Speaking directly to a camera, Parton explains that she’s working hard and was just hoping to put people’s minds at ease:
I want you to know that I’m okay. I got some problems, as I mentioned. Back when my husband, Carl, was very sick- that was for a long time, and then when he passed, I didn’t take care of myself. So I let a lot of things go that I should’ve been taking care of. So anyway when I got around to it, the doctor said we need to take care of this, we need to take care of that- nothing major.
Last month, the 79-year-old singer had to postpone six shows in Las Vegas. It would’ve been her first Las Vegas residency in 32 years. These shows were scheduled between Dec.4 and Dec.13 and were moved to September of 2026.
She explains in the video that the shows were moved so she could be closer to home while she’s receiving treatment.
Parton also talked about AI-generated photos of her and fellow country singer Reba McEntire, explaining “There are just a lot of rumors flying around. But I figured if you heard it from me, you’d know that I was okay.”
