Just two and a half months ago, an engineering student had an idea: to build a wooden replica of a Mercedes-Benz. Now that car lives in the London Children’s Museum. Ribal Zebian says he wants kids to know that anytime is a good time for a good idea.
On October 10th, the exhibit was ready to go, as young museum goers got a hands-on experience of the project. Zebian’s project is powered by an electric motor. It has functioning lights, an interior, and even working doors.
In the Discovery Lab, Zebian got to show both parents and their children photos of his project. The 18-year-old student spent 120 hours assembling it on the side of high school.
“Ribal’s gift is a powerful example of how one young person’s creativity can ignite the curiosity of countless others. We’re honoured to share his work and to help inspire the next generation of innovators,” said Jessie Collins, the museum’s Director of Education, in a press release sent out.
Zebian is currently attending Western University, studying engineering. He hopes his invention can show kids that you can achieve any idea with enough creativity and curiosity.
