Now one game away from winning the Intercounty Baseball League Championship, the London Majors defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 8-3. This would be the first time in 74 years that the Majors have won two straight titles.
The game started off slow the first few innings with London with London leading 1-0 in the 5th inning. The Majors then took a seven-run lead in the 6th inning putting the team up 8-3. Star players Cleveland Brownlee and Jakob Newton both drove a pair during the inning.
The Majors now have a 3-2 lead in the series with a chance to bring home the championship Thursday in Toronto.
If London happens to lose in Toronto, they will have a chance at game 7 Friday at Labatt Park.
Left Fielder Chris McQueen say they need to keep working together as a team for them to bring home the IBL Title.
