Tim Seeley, the artist and writer famous for his work on DC’s new 52 and Rebirth story lines, was at Forest City Comic Con this weekend. Seeley spoke about many things from his recent work on the marriage story line of Batman and Catwomen to some new projects he had in the works.
Regarding his work on the marriage story line Seeley touched on the tensions displayed between Nightwing and Superman. With both being so close to Batman there was a debate on who would be his best man. Seeley who wrote Nightwing for a long time said “Nightwing had to reaffirm his relationship to Bruce. Both Dick Grayson and Superman have that moment with who’s going to be the best man. Its about taking a real world situation and putting it in the heightened world of superheros.”
Seeley also answered everyone’s favorite question, who would win, Batman or Superman? “I mean with prep time of course Batman would win” Seeley said “But I mean Superman should win, because he’s a better person.”
Then just for fun we asked him out of the first two Robins, Dick Grayson (Nightwing) and Jason Todd (Red Hood) who would win that fight. Seeley said “Oh Nightwing in a second. I mean Red Hood has anger and is unpredictable but Dick is way more trained and way better at his job then Red Hood.
Finally when asked about what he wanted from the upcoming Matt Reeves Batman film all he had to say was “anything but Batman Year One, I always hoped someone would do Dark Knight Dark City, But anything but Year One, We’ve seen that one like 4 times.”
Seeleys next big project will see He-man and the Masters of the Universe take on the Injustice universe.
